In the face of rising global climate crises, Adam Powers—a visionary Black leader—sets out to create Sol University A&M, an HBCU in Keta, Ghana, designed to teach future generations the skills needed to combat climate change through agrivoltaics and sustainable technologies. Adam assembles a powerful and diverse team of Black developers and environmental experts to bring his vision to life. However, as they secure a $200 million EPA grant and begin building the campus, they face a series of seemingly insurmountable challenges: political resistance, environmental disasters, and tragic personal losses.
When climate catastrophes hit Washington state and Ghana simultaneously, Adam’s "X-Men" team is deployed to help, but many of them are lost or go missing during rescue operations. Devastated and on the verge of giving up, Adam contemplates abandoning his dream. But the resilience of the local community, the unwavering support of his students, and the global impact of Sol University’s teachings give him the strength to persevere.
As Adam rebuilds the university, the future becomes brighter with each new generation of students—represented by a young woman named Octavia, who arrives at the newly rebuilt campus with hopes of carrying the torch forward. Adam’s journey is one of perseverance, sacrifice, and hope, as he teaches the world that the power of one person’s vision can change everything.
